There's just something about classic jazz that just makes my heart really happy. It might be the heavy stand up bass, or the scratchy sound of old gramaphones, or the simple and romantic lyrics, or maybe those powerhouse voices that I envy so much! Whether it be Sinatra, Ella Fizgerald, Billie Holiday, Nat King Cole, Miles Davis.....!!!!! AAH I could go on for a never ending amount of time, but my point is that.... haha I have no clue what my point is, I JUST LOVE IT. Sometimes when I'm in the right mood I'll just pretend I'm Etta James and convince myself that I can reach those high notes in At Last ;) For studying, any instrumental jazz is a definite attitude booster. Here's my playlist for postive vibes.... enjoy!

I'm Home!!
After a gruelingly packed two-week trip of Northeast area colleges, I am exhausted and completely prepared to take my much-deserved vacation in the Florida Keys. Don't get me wrong, the college visits were great, but there's something about it that somehow induces a lot of stress ;). The pressure is definitely on after seeing the rigor and high levels of dedication at these schools. I could go on and on about my favorites and not-so-favorites, but I'll save that for more in-depth reviews. And since I don't have all night, here is my first college adventure in a nutshell:
Boston:
Brandeis University~ an American private research university in Waltham, Massachusetts, 9 miles west of Boston.
Boston College~ a private Jesuit Catholic research university located in the village of Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, United States, 6 miles west of downtown Boston.
Boston University~ a private research university located in the heart of Boston.
Harvard University~ a private Ivy League research university in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Providence:
Brown University~ a private, Ivy League research university in Providence, Rhode Island.
Poughkeepsie:
Vassar College~ a private, coeducational, liberal arts undergraduate college in the town of Poughkeepsie, New York.
New York City:
New York University~ a private, nonsectarian American research university based in New York City.
Columbia University~ a private Ivy League research university in Upper Manhattan, New York City.
Barnard University~ a private women's liberal arts college in New York City, New York.
So all in all, it was 9 schools in 3 cities, with an info session and campus tour for each. All in 13 days! By no means is this it, though, you can see that there's a definite mix of small and large schools. I'm sure there's a couple that you recognize, there might be a few that you don't. That was the point of this trip, to broaden my knowledge of different types of schools and to help me understand what I should look for. There are so many things to think about, campus, curriculum, extracurriculars and CITY! You have to deeply consider all of these and the sensation I get is quite similar to trying to choose just one flavor of Ben & Jerry's ice cream. None of these was a complete win or loss, lord knows I have a long way to go! Thank goodness I don't have to decide anytime soon. Well, that's it for today, I'm looking forward to diving into the details in future posts. :) Thanks for stopping by!

Colourpop Mini Haul // Makeup Review
1. "Aquarius" Lippie Stix
It is a "crème" finish and it was super creamy and soft, there was no tugging and the pigment easily came off. The formula is as great as I've heard and it smells so good! The only thing I would say is that the color is very different than I thought it would be. In the picture it looks like a nude with a pink shift, but in reality it had a lot more of a purple undertone. This difference was tiny though, and it's very pretty just the same. Definitely would recommend for any skin tone, since mine is pretty difficult to match a nude to. I have a tan/olive coloring.
2. "Aquarius" Lippie Pencil
This is the first lip liner that I have owned since I thought they were sooooo overrated, until I tried this one. I only really got it since I'm trying to grow my makeup collection and experiment with new things. Despite the pictures, it actually matches the Lippie Stix perfectly! It glides on like butter and does not feel chalky or heavy at all. It also does a great job defining my lips, even though I'm pretty sure that all lip liners do that.haha
3. "Vanity Fair" Super Shock Eyeshadow
Again, the picture was a bit different than the actual product. This angers me a bit, but the real thing was so pretty that I could hardly be mad for long. It was described as a silvery-taupe, but I see more of a pearlized brown. The formula is just so incredibly smooth that I slightly freaked out when I swatched it. I love the color, though it is a bit dark. It could work for a simple day look or an elegant look for going out.
4. "Birthday Boy" Special Edition Eyeshadow
I actually did not order this product, I got it for free! The day I placed my order happened to be the brand's 2nd Birthday and everyone got this special edition shadow. I haven't used it a whole bunch, but I really like it. It's very metallic and it's funny because it almost seems like the metallic version of "Vanity Fair." They work so well together and I am looking forward to when I have some real brushes to use them with.
I have heard so much about Colourpop and I think it's a great find for anyone! This is such a small portion of the Colourpop product line and I have yet to try them all. I have a second order coming in, so I will have some more reviews for you soon. Overall, I like the products very much and I think they were worth well over what I paid for them. Each item was only 5 DOLLARS!!! For the quality, that's just incredible. I'm already a huge fan, so stay tuned for my second order ;) Thanks for stopping by!

HAHA it's SUMMER // Movie Review
Let me tell you, time is flying by faster than possible... I cannot believe that 5 months has passed since the start of the year like this. I've always been told that time goes faster as you get older, but I didn't buy it until now. Well, it's summer now for me, and I am finally home. I could not be more excited, I have so many things I've wanted to do but I haven't had the time to! On the list is getting a summer job, getting into a workout routine, and blogging regularly. This is hopefully going to happen as I settle in, but I am also excited for the travel plans I have :). In June, I am taking a two week trip with my mom to New England and then for a week or so in July, I am going with my family to the keys.
Casting 10/10
Storyline/Predictability 8.5/10
Originality 9/10
Costumes 11/10 haha, obviously my favorite part of this movie
Soundtrack 9/10
Overall Quality 9/10
Alright so I won't spoil anything, but bring some kleenex to the theater because I definitely recommend that you go see it! If you like romantic stories, this one will play with your heart like play-doh. Thanks for stopping by!
